The Story of Worlds Away. In 1992, after an inspirational trip to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Worlds Away started out as an import company that revitalized the painted tole look.

Within a few years, they began to push design boundaries with additions in handcrafted lighting and hand painted metal furniture. Soon they were employing a distinctive mix including mirrored pieces, statement lighting, occasional furniture, and unique accessories. Their collection incorporates rich textiles, colored lacquer, lucite, grasscloth, and more to put a modern twist on the seamless style. A resurgence of the Hollywood Regency style and Mid-Century modern design inspired them to create more transitional pieces that could relate to today's interiors and still hint at the past.
