LARGE 24 ANTIQUE Victorian CARVED WOOD & Glass BUTLER TRAY Butterfly Needlework

I'm pleased to offer this "Magnificent". VICTORIAN ERA ANTIQUE Wood & Glass BUTLER'S SERVING TRAY. It measures 25" long X 18" wide X 2-1/4 high overall, including the handles. The flat tray itself measures measures 24" long and is 1-1/4" thick (not including the handles).

Weighing just shy of 8 lbs by itself, this custom made period design wooden ware furnishing is sturdy & very well constructed. What is UNIQUE is the heavy , carved wood frame and delicate needle work art that it permanently displays under glass.

There is elaborate carved detailing on the front sides along with cast brass handles and a solid wood back with button feet (see images). Measuring 16" long X 11" wide, the white crochet artwork features an intricate "butterfly" pattern that was no doubt chosen for inclusion by the original owner (see images). Remarkably , there are no chips or cracks in the wood and the glass is sparkling clear with no inordinate scratching or stains. Light verdigris on the handles and an overall mild patina are conditions commensurate with age.
