Gorgeous Danish Modern Set of 4 Gladmark Sizzler Platters from the 1960s with wooden tray and the aluminum inserts. These were meant to go from oven to table using the wooden trays as a safe barrier between the table and the hot metal platter. Keeps food hot longer- and in mid century elegance and style.

Set also includes an accompanying original paper instruction guide and directions on how to utilize these that Gladmark provided with the platters published by House Beautiful in November 1962---this explaining how these trays are for "Food for Eating in the Kitchen" - a completely modern practice (in 1962) that was virtually unheard of before just a few years prior. The article is a really fun piece to read, allowing you to step into the mindset of the 1960s kitchen. Also, you can use just the wooden platters for party trays of fruit, veggies, cheese, etc. You can use the just aluminum inserts on top of ice to keep foods cold on a buffet such as seafood.
