Kalmar Designs Denmark Vintage Rosewood/teak Staved Cheese/snack Serving Tray

KALMAR DESIGNS,' DENMARK VINTAGE STAVED, CROSS-CUT, BUTT-END ROSEWOOD/TEAK. This superb vintage staved rosewood and teak cross-cut mosaic cheese/snack wooden serving tray from' Kalmar Designs, Denmark,' is in extraordinary overall vintage condition. It doesn't have any flea-bites to any of its edges, abrasions or dings to its corners or surface.

The square tray is made by Kalmar Designs, Denmark and features staved, cross-cut, butt-end pieces of rosewood and teak boards, affixed and glued tightly together in a mosaic,'butcher block' style pattern, with alternating colors of the more reddish rosewood and the lighter, more orange teak. Both tropical hardwoods (the rosewood and teak) are exceptionally hard and resist cutting marks and moisture damage. The tray boasts a central raised'moat' to hold cheese or condiments and a surrounding, wider'moat' to hold cheese or crackers.

It has tapered back edges and soft corners. The tray rests on four rubberized polymer tab half-round feet.
